| In an attempt to diversify and increase our markets we have expanded our operation to include a herd of registered Black Angus cows.
In the fall of 2005, Grandpa Ken purchased a group of 30 bred heifers from the Sandy Bar Ranch at Aneroid, Saskatchewan. We added to this base with a few females from various consignment sales and a number of females from our neighbors at Peak Dot Ranch Ltd.
This program is in the very beginning, building stage and we will cull diligently and expand our base to a herd of 100 "Elite" breeding females. Our goal is to develop a herd of Black Angus cows with the same high standards that we have applied to our Red Angus herd. We are also excited about using the genetics from this black herd to create new blood in our Red Angus program.
In order to pay as much attention to the Black Angus division as we have our Red Angus division we knew we needed someone who could dedicate that kind of time to the task. We are very fortunate to have Geoff Anderson join the Six Mile team as the manager of our Black Angus herd. Geoff is a young, enthusiastic cattleman who many of you already know as an accomplished Limousin cattle breeder, judge, and cattle fitter. The Six Mile herd of Black cows will be maintained on Geoff's Bethune, SK ranch.
We are pleased to announce that Six Mile has recently leased the Thomasan Angus herd from Merle Thomasan. These cows are at the ranch in Bethune. We are very excited about this genetic addition.

Meet our Black Angus ranch manager... Geoff Anderson joined Six Mile to give our Black Angus herd the dedication it needed. The herd is maintained at Geoff's Bethune, SK ranch.
